Our ‘Preparing for the NEA’ course for Cambridge Advanced National in Mental Health H098, H198 will equip you with the knowledge and understanding to optimise NEA delivery, supporting you to get the most out of your students’ performance.

Building upon the content housed in our Cambridge OCR Train modules, this event will:

• Explore how you can support students to develop the skills required for successful NEA work, including detailed explanation of assessment expectations and marking criteria

• Offer guidance on how to establish effective internal marking and moderation processes, including opportunities to practise marking candidate-style work

• Discuss the range of support resources available to you in the run up to delivering your first NEA unit.

Aims and Objectives

What the course aims to do:

• Prepare and build delegate understanding and confidence prior to delivering their first internally assessed NEA unit

How the course will fulfil those aims:

• Provide an in-depth explanation of assessment framework/ expectations and marking criteria

• Provide opportunities to practise marking candidate style work, using samples

• Offer guidance on how and why candidate style work received a range of marks

• Provide opportunities to interact with expert trainers and ask questions to support with NEA preparation and delivery

• Offer guidance on how to establish effective/robust internal standardisation and moderation processes

• Explore ideas to enhance teaching and learning of the NEA unit
