Description
Led by an experienced examiner, our ‘GCSE (9-1) Maths - Marking and mark schemes training’ aims to develop your understanding of how to mark responses to GCSE (9-1) Maths questions, supporting you to mark your students’ responses consistently with our examiners. The course covers the content of Cambridge OCR GCSE (9-1) Maths mark schemes (including different types of mark, acronyms, etc.), the general principles for marking GCSE (9-1) Maths responses and the chance to practice marking. The course runs for 60-minutes.
Aims and Objectives
To help enable teachers to mark their students’ GCSE (9-1) Maths responses (to mock exams or similar) consistently with Cambridge OCR examiners, by:
- Explaining the general principles that underpin marking decisions,
- Highlighting the different types of mark (M, A, B, SC),
- Explaining acronyms and annotations used in the mark schemes,
- Marking responses to questions together and discussing the mark scheme application,
- Considering how to use professional judgement.
