In this ‘Enhance your teaching’ event for A Level Biology A H420, our expert trainer will aim to offer tips and practical advice on how to maximise marks, as well as a detailed explanation of what is required of top-band responses, supporting you realise your students’ potentials, empowering you to deliver our A Level Biology A H420 qualification with confidence.

What the course aims to do:

• Improve your understanding of the mark scheme rubric

• Improve your understanding of marking of extended response questions

• Provide you with examples of challenging questions and those which more clearly show pupil proficiency.

• Promote sharing of ideas between us to support pupils with examinations in the classroom.

How the course will fulfil those aims:

• A brief review of the mark scheme rubric, including annotations.

• A practical activity to mark and reflect on some extended response answers.

• Review questions from June 2026 exam series, which scored lower average marks nationally and some which showed a correlation between score and overall grade.

• A summary discussion on how to utilise this knowledge when teaching in the classroom.
